Prepping

Apparently Mercury has been in retrograde recently. That explains a lot; mostly why David has been running around with his hair on end as he tears back and forth from the marina, trying to get Leona ready for her Pacific outing. It explains why unique bolts that can only be sourced from a tiny factory in Germany throw themselves overboard. It explains why a beautiful new Danish sail rips the first time it is unfurled. It explains why the exotic new drive shaft couplings request a conscious un-coupling, and the stern thrusters throw a tantrum.

Luckily there is a solution for the whole retrograde thing: just take a breath and let things unfold. Sure enough, the thrusters were put on a time-out, the couplings went to counseling, a sailmaker performed magic, and a diver just happened to be nearby and found the German bolt on the seabed.

Leona “on the hard” (or in other words, out of the water), with her new sails about to be rigged.

Nevertheless, Leona is certainly living the “if you give a mouse a cookie…” life. We gave her some new lines, and she demanded new sails which led to new running rigging which meant an overhaul of just about every system on board….

But the retrograde situation is supposed to resolve on the 24th, so astrologically speaking the signs are propitious for our April 25th launch date. I am sure Leona will be monitoring her horoscope and keep her sails and bolts behaving appropriately.
